TraINING
Preseason Training: 15 hours of training spread over 3 weekends prior to the start of the Spring Season. A camp environment conducted exclusively for all Diamondback teams by Elite Baseball Instruction staff, with an average 8:1 player to instructor ratio. Each session builds on the previous session and culminates with each player prepared physically and mentally to start their season.
Team Practices: Team oriented practices supervised by an EBI instructor where players learn all aspects of team baseball. Team defense – cut offs, defensive coverages, communication. Situational hitting – bunting, sacrificing, plate discipline. Aggressive base running – leading off, secondary leads, reading the pitcher, stealing and taking the extra base. “It’s not about you.”
Game Day Instruction: Instruction does not stop on game day. Diamondback players in the dugout are expected to chart pitches, communicate signs and anticipate stealing and bunting situations. The EBI coach will instruct all players as game situations develop. Each game is reviewed with the players as a team with emphasis on the positive developments and objective critiques where improvement is needed.
Hitting Clinics: 2 hour sessions with EBI instructors where Irvine Diamondbacks drill through multiple stations designed to improve their hitting technique.
Clinics are typically held once a week during the season.
"I can hit anyone"
Private Instruction: 1 on 1 instruction with an EBI instructor!
Designed for Irvine Diamondbacks players seeking private instruction in pitching, catching, hitting or fielding.
These private sessions are with an EBI instructor, specialized in the particular skill set the player wants to develop.
In addition, the instructor often observes the player in game situations, and can tailor future sessions to address specific areas that need improvement based on game day performance. |
